acte-notarie-sur-parchemin-xviiie-siecle
Notarized deed on parchment - 18th century

Antique notarial deed on parchment consisting of four handwritten pages, relating to the constitution of an annual annuity of fifty livres for the benefit of Nicolas Héroiard, a priest, whose name appears in the text. This 18th-century document preserves beautiful brown ink handwriting, a tax stamp, and several signatures accompanied by initials. Marginal annotations and a payment record attest to the tracking of this transaction. The texture of the parchment, its ivory shades, and the lines of writing give it a fine presence, somewhere between a notarial archive and a collector's item.

✦ Period: 18th century, February 1, 1771
✦ Origin: France
✦ Dimensions: approximately 25 × 20 cm, document closed
✦ Material: parchment manuscript in ink
✦ Content: 4 handwritten pages
✦ Condition: old folds, undulations in the parchment, stains and variations in shade, small perforations, and locally faded ink.
