An imposing antique advertising jar in white enameled ceramic , decorated with the inscription: " Ancienne Maison Thierry – Harly Paris – Rue Neuve des Petits Champs, 82 ". The network of Parisian potters and confectioners in the 19th century counted this renowned establishment among its suppliers of flavorings, syrups, and sweet products. The address is invaluable for dating: Rue Neuve des Petits Champs, in the 1st arrondissement, officially changed its name to Rue des Petits-Champs in 1881. This earlier inscription therefore indicates a jar dating from the second half of the 19th century, probably between 1860 and 1880. The piece is distinguished by its beautiful straight shape, its original crackle pattern, and its understated yet elegant typography.
