collection-de-14-cachets-polychromes-anciens
Collection of 14 antique polychrome seals

An antique board of fourteen wax seals, offering a palette of gray-green, red, deep blue, olive green, violet, and mauve, complemented by a large impression with silvery highlights. Several coats of arms are framed by animals and surmounted by crowns, while the mauve seal in the bottom row features two conjoined shields in a finely ornamented composition. The repetition of certain designs in different colors gives this set a particular interest. Mounted on small papers and accompanied by handwritten captions, the impressions make for a beautiful collection to frame in order to highlight their nuances and reliefs.

✦ Period: Late 19th / Early 20th century
✦ Provenance: antique collection of seals and signets
✦ Dimensions: approx. 30.5 × 21 cm
✦ Material: sealing wax, paper, and cardboard
✦ Content: 14 seal impressions
✦ Condition: good overall condition, many reliefs well-preserved; some cracks and small chips.

A board of polychrome seals for lovers of heraldry, antique coats of arms, and cabinets of curiosities.
