2 boxes of "Paris to Lyon Railway - PLM" feathers

Set consisting of two antique metal nib boxes in dark blue and gold, bearing the inscription "Chemins de Fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée", referring to the famous railway company P.L.M. One marked no. 3, the other no. 9, they each contain a varied assortment of antique metal nibs, mixing different models and sizes. The contrast between the printed lids and the violet and cream geometric patterned interior papers gives them a particular decorative charm. A very evocative lot from the world of administrative and railway writing at the end of the 19th century.
