A pair of large antique stencils on heavy, blue-tinted paper, from a late 19th-century painter-decorator's workshop. These compositions feature a particularly refined design, blending vegetal scrolls, stylized flowers, and geometric borders, typical of Belle Époque wall and ceiling decorations. The visible micro-perforations allow the motif to be transferred by sanding, while the highlights in bluish watercolor and pen serve as a model for coloring. The simultaneous presence of the preparatory drawing and its perforated transfer provides a complete record of the workshop's decorative process.
