This antique document combines elegant printed typography with handwritten additions in brown ink, under the heading "Louis, by the grace of God, King of France and Navarre." A black fiscal stamp from Auvergne featuring fleurs-de-lis, large signatures, and elaborate paraphs punctuate the piece, which retains thread and ribbon attachments at the bottom. Issued in Riom on November 30, 1780, this act concerns the confirmation of a real estate acquisition in Ambert, covering a shop and an attic. The contrast of the characters, the spaces left for writing, and the nuances of the medium give it a striking presence for a collection of antique documents or graphic arts.
