A rare lithographed tin box in the shape of a book, produced for the Printemps department store in Paris under the direction of Jules Jaluzot, founder of the company in 1865. The gold and navy blue decoration, typical of the 1900s, evokes the Parisian elegance of the Belle Époque. The manufacturer's address, "Boîtes Carbone, Rue Joubert 19, Paris," appears around the edge. This miniature book-shaped box, with its back adorned with the intertwined monogram JC, is among the finest advertising objects from early 20th-century Parisian retail.
