Antique "Inoculated Chicken Blood" Laboratory Vial (f42)

Small transparent glass laboratory vial, preserved with its original cork stopper, also annotated. The handwritten label reads "Chicken blood inoculated with tuberculous serum Mallin", followed by the number "24". This inscription refers to experimental practices related to the study of tuberculosis, a major disease of the early 20th century. The use of serums and inoculations on animal models illustrates early immunology research and attempts to understand and treat this pathology. A particularly evocative testament to medical laboratory experiments of that period.
