Vintage Grey-Poupon mustard pot in fine earthenware by Digoin & Sarreguemines, in size L, with a double-beaded neck. Its black printed decoration depicts the coat of arms of Dijon surmounted by a mural crown, surrounded by bunches of grapes, vine leaves, and banners recalling the house's awards and its founding in 1777. The neck features the words "Paris 1900", "Hors concours" and "Membre du jury". On the back, the inscription "Exiger la capsule" accompanies an illustration of the capsule with a guilloché base bearing the words "Moutarde", "Dijon" and "Grey-Poupon", completed by the words "Made in France" and "Cachet déposé". This set allowed the buyer to recognize the product of the Dijon house. The base bears the crowned mark of Digoin & Sarreguemines. A beautiful piece of vintage grocery ware, with illustrations and typography characteristic of early 20th-century advertising.
