Old advertising pot in enamelled ceramic for Rémond's "Confitures en Gros" (Wholesale Jams) in Paris, bearing the signature "Em. Privé Successeur". Its brown decoration combines large ornate letters, the mention "Maison fondée en 1835" (House founded in 1835) and a composition of medals underlined with the banner "Paris - Médaille d’Or - 1889" (Paris - Gold Medal - 1889). On the side, the oval mark with the monogram "RD" advertises "surfines" (extra fine) jams "guaranteed fruit & sugar". Its shouldered silhouette and molded neck distinguish it from usual cylindrical pots.
