Rare advertising pot in glazed white earthenware bearing the inscription "Barbier Confiseur Melun" in a particularly neat calligraphic composition. The large, flowing letters are accompanied by delicate arabesques and tapered ornaments, printed in a burgundy-brown hue. The cylindrical body, topped with a stepped collar, gives full prominence to this elegant design. Its finely crazed enamel and well-preserved decor make this testimony to the confectionery trade in Melun charming, to be displayed in a collection of advertising pots or among old shop accessories.
