Important occult treatise by Papus, pseudonym of Dr. Gérard Encausse, published in Paris in 1924 by the Librairie générale des sciences occultes - Bibliothèque Chacornac. This edition marks the first publication of the work under the title Traité méthodique de magie pratique (Methodical Treatise on Practical Magic), a considerably expanded development of his Traité élémentaire de magie pratique published starting in 1893. Very abundantly illustrated, the work brings together theory and practice regarding ceremonial magic, astrology, planetary influences, human constitution, numbers, pentacles, seals, correspondences, and occult traditions. It includes numerous tables, diagrams, and esoteric figures, as well as a frontispiece by Gayac. A major work by Papus and of early 20th-century French occult literature.
