Old "Paulin Grease" advertising tin

This old round lithographed tin box is a testament to the golden age of leather care products manufactured in the Jura region. Produced by P. Paulin, a tanner in Saint-Claude, it contained a grease intended to soften, nourish, and waterproof shoes, harnesses, and horse-drawn equipment. Its particularly attractive illustrated design depicts a character in shoemaker or bootmaker attire, surrounded by advertising text praising the product's qualities. The mention "Patented in France and Abroad" as well as the iconography related to car hoods and horse harnesses place this version in the early decades of the 20th century.
