Small lithographed tin advertising box for Cachou Parisien mints, pastilles intended for oral hygiene. The lid features a simple typographic design on a textured green background, with the mention "Marque déposée" (Registered Trademark) and phrasing typical of oral hygiene products from the late 19th century. Cachous were small perfumed pastilles made from licorice or aromatics, very popular in pharmacies and confectionery shops for freshening breath. This type of small-format metal packaging was common between the late 19th century and the 1910s. The patina and oxidation on the reverse side attest to its age and usage.

✦ Provenance: France
✦ Estimated era: Early 20th century
✦ Dimensions: approx. 4 x 3 x 1 cm
✦ Material: Lithographed tin
✦ Condition: Signs of wear with scuffing on the lid, oxidation on the reverse, and a small central hole on the back likely related to an old mounting; design still clearly legible

A small relic of the breath mint and oral hygiene trade of the Belle Époque, appreciated for its typographic design and miniature format.
