Antique white earthenware archer’s mug, decorated with a large black number 3 and blue lines accentuating its cylindrical shape. On the sides, five dots of blue arranged in columns echo the decoration on the handle, while three lines encircle the base. These numbered pots, traditionally called archer’s mugs, belong to the convivial world of taverns and popular gatherings. Their history is intertwined with that of celebrations and social occasions where people would gather for a drink. With its sober decoration, shades of blue, and patina of age, this piece finds its place naturally on an antique sideboard or among a collection of folk ceramics.
