This old Glacoid sign was intended to be displayed in a pastry shop, bakery, or food store to remind customers of hygiene rules. Its message, which has become particularly evocative today, reflects health concerns in food businesses during the first half of the 20th century. Produced by the SAPI company, located at 1 rue Rossat in Marseille, it features a sober typography framed by an elegant printed decoration. Signs of this type were generally hung behind display cases or above counters to protect the goods on display.

✦ Provenance: SAPI, Marseille, France
✦ Estimated period: Circa 1930-1940
✦ Dimensions: approx. 25 x 18 cm
