A superb antique porcelain door handle, made for professional use, most likely intended for a pharmacy or medical practice. The black printed decoration features a medical symbol with a serpent (caduceus), accompanied by the inscription "Hry Scellier à Voujeaucourt (Doubs)". The domed, ergonomic shape is designed for a firm grip, characteristic of door knobs and handles found in shops and medical offices from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The handle rests on a metal base with a female thread, designed to be screwed onto a fixed rod or axle on a door or piece of professional furniture.
