Rare period portraits on cardboard (circa 1890–1900) accompanied by their original printed silk protective covers—a detail almost always lost. These thin, translucent sheets, printed with the studio's name, served to protect the print before delivery to the client: an ephemeral fragment of photographic history! Here, they are intact , with their floral motifs and mentions of gold medals, revealing all the refinement of the Tours-based workshops of C. Romain and F. Larippe. Sold individually.
