A vintage pharmaceutical bottle , made of blown orange-red glass, with its original label printed in black on a bright orange background, explicitly stating: Cocaine Hydrochlorate . It comes from the Roques company in Paris, a renowned supplier of pharmaceutical chemicals. The front label is crossed out with the word POISON in capital letters, and a security seal around the stopper is still present. This type of bottle was used in the late 19th or very early 20th century, a time when cocaine was legally prescribed for medicinal purposes. An exceptional piece of medical and pharmacopoeia history, both rare and striking in its visual impact.
