A charming empty bottle of permanent black ink produced by Encres Gauloises – Colles & Cires, Bagnolet-Paris , recognizable by its tricolor rooster emblem. The typographic label, printed in red, black, and gold on a turquoise background, perfectly illustrates the French advertising style of the turn of the century. The whole piece maintains a pleasing homogeneity: a green-tinted glass bottle, the molded inscription "État" (State) on the neck, and a clearly legible label with a few minor signs of age.
