A lithographed box with ornamental decoration typical of the 1880s–1890s, simply mentioning Plume Lance in the center of a cartouche with gold and brown floral motifs. The interior, lined with red velvet, still contains a good quantity of original metal nibs (approximately three-quarters of the complete contents), marked Blanzy Poure & Cie – Boulogne s/ Mer , Lance model. This type of plain box, without figurative illustration, was intended for the school and office trade, produced by one of the largest French manufacturers of metal pen nibs.
