Original bottle of yellow copper varnish manufactured by Soehnée Frères , 19 rue des Filles-du-Calvaire, Paris. The period typographic label indicates the numerous awards received by the brand: bronze medal (London 1851), silver medal (Paris 1867–1878, Vienna 1873), and gold medal at the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition . This cylindrical bottle, still partially filled with solidified varnish, retains an improvised paper stopper and a superb patina —a typical workshop detail from the late 19th century. An authentic piece, at the crossroads of the history of varnish chemistry and Parisian industrial advertising.
