An antique medical atlas designed for examining color vision and screening for color vision deficiencies, composed of color plates made up of colored dots that reveal numbers or shapes according to visual perception. This type of plate, derived from the Ishihara Color Test , was used by physicians and ophthalmologists to identify different forms of color blindness. The work presented here is by Dr. Polack and includes 46 plates that allow for differentiation between normal vision and Dalton, Nagel, or Balfour type vision. Each page offers a color combination designed to reveal a number or shape perceptible only according to the patient's color vision ability. The vibrant colors and highly distinctive graphic composition of these plates make them today a scientific object that is as decorative as it is intriguing.
