Large lithographed tin can for the Pyralion product, manufactured by Schloesing Frères & Cie , 175 rue Paradis, Marseille. This industrial container was used to package an alkali arsenite used in viticulture as a radical treatment against several vine diseases and parasites, as well as various insect infestations. The distinctive design combines industrial typography and symbolic iconography, featuring a lion's head surrounded by ribbons, an emblem of the product's power and efficacy. The word "Poison" is clearly visible on the upper surfaces, a reminder of the toxicity of arsenic-based agricultural treatments used in the early 20th century.
