An antique "John" brand cigarette box, made of printed cardboard, illustrated with a male figure wearing a top hat, depicted in polychrome on the lid and in monochrome inside. The graphic design and typography are characteristic of Belgian advertising from the early 20th century. The bottom of the box features a detailed table of awards received at international exhibitions (Liège 1905, Brussels 1906 and 1910, Antwerp 1930), allowing for reliable dating before the 1930s. The trademark, registered on August 26, 1887, for Colonias Hermanos, is also present, attesting to a production consistent with that of major European tobacco companies.
