Antique J.B. Mallat metal nib box with superb red, cream, and gold typographic decoration characteristic of the Belle Époque. This "Plumes en ronde - Extra Supérieure" model was intended for the round and applied writing styles used in education, accounting, or commercial calligraphy. The box still contains about 65 original nibs with a particularly decorative design, featuring an embossed oval reservoir and ribbed body. A beautiful set of antique stationery, very graphic and evocative of school and writing supplies from the turn of the century.
