Box of "Balloon Nibs - Soennecken"

Pretty antique box of metal nibs from Soennecken, a famous German manufacturer of writing supplies founded in Bonn at the end of the 19th century. This "Plumes Ballon" (Balloon Nibs) model, in its deep blue lithographed tin box with a stylized balloon motif, features a very strong and immediately recognizable graphic design. It still contains about 60 original nibs, including several examples of the model illustrated on the lid. A beautiful complete set, emblematic of the world of European school and administrative writing from the early 20th century.
