A beautiful antique lithographed tin box for the Biscuiterie Idéale de Vve Paquay in Grammont, Belgium. The typically Art Nouveau design features a young woman seated within a crescent moon, pulling a ribbon held by a small cherub—a poetic scene framed by gilded scrolls. The side panels repeat the same iconography, along with an advertising banner stating "Specialty of Galette Idéale with Vanilla" and mentioning the diplomas and medals awarded at exhibitions. The deep blue and gold palette gives the box a striking decorative presence, characteristic of fine lithographed food tins from the Belle Époque. A beautiful example of early 20th-century Belgian biscuit advertising, now sought after for the quality of its design and its still very presentable condition.
