Lithographed tin box "Graisse Paulin"

This old lithographed tin advertising box was designed to hold the famous Graisse Paulin Blonde (Paulin Blonde Grease) manufactured by P. Paulin, a tanner in Saint-Claude in the Jura region. This variant differs from the older version intended for car hoods and harnesses, as it is presented here as ideal for hunting, sports, and work shoes, reflecting the evolution of uses during the interwar period. Its illustration depicting a shoe shiner at work retains all the graphic charm of early 20th-century French advertising packaging. Despite significant patina and traces of oxidation, the lithography remains legible and decorative.
