An antique lithographed tin pharmaceutical box, originally containing "Neutroses-Vichy" alkaline-bismuth tablets, a specialty intended for the rational treatment of stomach ailments. The original label lists indications for stomach pain, dyspepsia, gastritis, fermentation, and acidity, with medical language typical of the early 20th century. The presentation combines a deep burgundy hue with a richly typed cream label, from the Vichy Medical-Pharmacological Laboratory. The whole perfectly illustrates the French thermal and digestive pharmacopoeia of the Belle Époque.
