A small, lithographed tin advertising box for Cachou Parisien mint lozenges, intended for oral hygiene. The lid features a simple typographic design on a textured green background, with the inscription "Trademark" and wording typical of late 19th-century oral hygiene products. Cachous were small, flavored lozenges made with licorice or aromatics, very popular in pharmacies and confectioneries for freshening breath. This type of small metal packaging was common between the late 19th century and the 1910s. The patina and oxidation on the reverse attest to its age and use.
