A small, antique lithographed tin tube, originally containing "Eureka" ink tablets, designed to be dissolved in water to make writing ink. This system, very practical for schoolchildren and offices in the early 20th century, allowed the ink to be transported in solid form before dilution. The black and red typographic design is very representative of the graphic style of school supplies of the period, with the inscription "EUREKA ink tablets are highly concentrated." The back features the instructions for use, indicating dissolution in cold or hot water and recommending avoiding humidity. A very decorative miniature, and uncommon in this condition.
