A splendid hand-painted binding , inspired by medieval design, reproducing the aesthetic of 14th-century illuminated manuscripts . The polychrome floral decoration, delicately rendered in gouache and ink, frames the title with stylized motifs of scrolls, leaves, flowers, and arabesques in a vibrant range of red, blue, green, and gold. Inside, the cover is lined with pink moiré fabric and bordered with a coordinating painted border. This is a 20th-century work of art, likely from a deluxe edition of a historical volume. The interior also includes 12 color reproduction plates.
