An antique box of gouache pans from the French brand JM Paillard, in their "Carmine" shade No. 370. Made in France, this rigid cardboard box still contains four pans sealed in their original packaging, protected by their blue-printed glassine paper. Carmine, an intense pigment of a deep rosy red, was a staple of classic palettes. Despite its partial contents, this box retains all its appeal, both for its rarity and its understated, typographic aesthetic.
