Superb large bronze frog, the central element of the traditional game of skill known as the frog game (or barrel game), very popular in cafes and open-air cafes in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This piece served as the main target: players had to throw metal discs into its open mouth to score the most points. Its natural patina, traces of verdigris, and beautiful modeling attest to its being an antique, hand-cast bronze.
