An old advertising ashtray in patinated spelter, depicting a cobra poised on a geometric base forming a trinket tray, signed "A. Pichegru". This creation in a decidedly Art Deco style was made for the pharmaceutical laboratory Dehaussy, whose name appears molded on the reverse with the mentions "Cereossine" and "Diastogène". The stylized treatment of the serpent, with its sober and powerful lines, fully evokes the modernist and exotic aesthetic of the years 1925-1935. A unique decorative piece combining animal sculpture, pharmaceutical advertising, and a counter object.
