Rare printed and handwritten Masonic certificate, issued in 1823 to a brother named Joseph Roux, born in Marseille, by Lodge United Brothers No. 32, held in Gibraltar and constituted under the auspices of the Grand Lodge of Edinburgh in Scotland. The document is particularly decorative due to its large engraved composition: Masonic symbols, radiant triangle with the Tetragrammaton, putti, moon and sun, columns, skull and crossbones, anchor, globe, temple, mosaic pavement, beehive, builder's tools, and its many handwritten signatures. It retains its wide vertical blue ribbon and its embossed paper seal, bearing the emblems of the square, compasses, columns, and radiant delta. The whole mixes French and English text, which enhances its historical and visual interest.
