Antique white earthenware archer’s tankard, bearing the number 1 underlined with a decorative line and accompanied by a black star. Deep blue bands accent the neck and base, while two vertical leafy stems frame the sides and the handle is adorned with blue touches. This graphic decoration gives a beautiful presence to this piece of folk pottery, evocative of the festivals and gatherings of archery societies, the heirs to medieval guilds. Its slender silhouette and the traces of its festive past make it a piece full of character, to be displayed alone or among a collection of numbered tankards.
