Antique archer’s tankard in Nimy-les-Mons earthenware, featuring a large number 20 in black on a white reserve. Rows of small blue scallops are repeated on the sides and the handle, complemented by a blue border at the rim and fine double lines at the base. Its slender silhouette and rhythmic decoration give it a beautiful presence in a china cabinet. It evokes the gatherings and celebrations of archery societies, rooted in a tradition of guilds and competitions dating back to the Middle Ages. Marked under the base, this Belgian ceramic retains the patina of its convivial past and will naturally find its place in a collection of numbered tankards.
