Antique Nimy earthenware archer's tankard, featuring a large number 33 in black against a delicately patinated cream background. Its blue decoration consists of small overlapping scallops, repeated on the sides and handle, with fine double lines at the rim and base. The green mark of the Société anonyme de la Faïencerie de Nimy-les-Mons, formerly Mouzin, Lecat & Cie, appears on the bottom. Evocative of the convivial gatherings of archery societies, heirs to medieval guilds, this tankard charms with its slender silhouette, rhythmic decoration, and excellent state of preservation. A piece of character to display in a china cabinet or among a collection of numbered tankards.
