An elegant, compartmentalized wooden box with brass trim, containing a complete set of tools for a decorative painter or ornamentalist. The compartmentalized interior holds pressed glass paint pots, ceramic dishes, and a collection of specialized tools: brushes of various sizes, a pen, and drawing or engraving tools. The highly structured arrangement and the presence of technical tools indicate professional use, likely in a decorative painting, gilding, or lettering workshop. The set, remaining coherent and homogeneous, is a rare example of late 19th-century workshop equipment. Includes its original key.
