Antique box containing four genuine prosthetic eyes ( Glasseyes ) made of enameled blown glass. Each eye features a realistically painted iris and fine red veins that replicate the natural appearance of the sclera. This type of prosthesis was handcrafted by ocularists from blown glass, then decorated with enamel to reproduce the nuances of the patient's iris. The slightly asymmetrical shapes correspond to individual models designed to be fitted into the eye socket. The four examples display different iris shades—browns and grays—illustrating the meticulous work of these specialized artisans. The set is preserved in its original small, compartmentalized box lined with blue fabric.
