A rare countertop Oblies box, a rare cylindrical version in bright red lithographed tin adorned with gilt motifs and star friezes. The lid, with its rotating arrow mechanism, echoes the logic of small games of chance or bistro lottery wheels. The inscription "Voilà le plaisir Mesdames" (Here's the pleasure, ladies) evokes the world of confectionery and games of skill from the Belle Époque, where one bet on a number before receiving their wafer or sweet. A typical fairground and advertising piece, both playful and decorative, whose patina of age enhances its authentic charm.
