A splendid architectural-style alphabet from the Letters and Signs series (2nd series) published by H. Vial around 1900. The riveted letters, shaded in brown and white, evoke the metal or relief signs on the facades of prestigious hotels and establishments. In the upper left corner, an inset labeled "Elevator – Electricity – Bathrooms" illustrates the world of modern comforts during the Belle Époque.
