Superb Art Nouveau plate from the famous Album de la Décoration published by A. Calavas in Paris, presenting models of jewelry and accessories imagined by Maurice Daurat , goldsmith and major creator of the 1900 movement. The forms evoke stylized nature — female faces, flowers, dragonflies, vegetal scrolls — reflecting the poetic and sensual impulse of Art Nouveau.
More than a decorative illustration, this plate originally served as a source of inspiration for jewellers, goldsmiths and decorators , a true creative tool spreading modern taste in the workshops and art schools of the Belle Époque.
