A game of skill with strong patriotic overtones , this illustrated box depicts a triumphant officer under the flag, cheered by his soldiers, while an angel presents him with a marshal's baton. Inside, a brass sheath and a small tricolor baton form the core of the game: the aim is to slide the baton into the sheath using precise jerks. A game of skill but also one of nationalist inspiration, it promotes the idea of military merit and success through perseverance, in the spirit of the Third Republic. The printed rules are located at the bottom of the box, which bears the inscription "Registered Design 13,950".
