An antique advertising jar in glazed earthenware , illustrated in black and white with two detailed views: the Félix Potin sales house located at 101–103 Boulevard de Sébastopol and the steam-powered factory at 83–85 Rue de l'Ourcq in Paris. This type of printed decoration reflects the attention paid to brand image from the late 19th century onward, in the grand tradition of commercial jam jars. The address at Boulevard de Sébastopol is documented from 1895, while the factory on Rue de l'Ourcq was in operation from 1890. The jar can therefore be dated to around 1895–1905.
