Typographic plate extracted from A. Botzum's Library of the Building Painter , published by E. Thézard Fils in Dourdan. This alphabet, known as "Egyptian sans-serif," with straight serifs and raised strokes, illustrates industrial typography and signage from the late 19th century. Against an emerald green background of rare intensity, the white letters shaded in black produce a striking depth effect, typical of lettering work for facades, railway carriages, or shop fronts of the period.
