An antique, horizontally formatted enamel sign with a white background and black lettering, reading " MAILBOX AT NO. 38 — CARRIAGE DOOR — ". It was used to guide mail carriers or visitors to the location of a mailbox in an inner courtyard or building. Made of enameled sheet metal, it has two mounting holes and a discreet frame. Its simple design, typical of the 1930s-50s, and its slight traces of rust give it a charming patina.
