A refined Art Nouveau plate from the Second Volume of the Album de la Décoration, published by A. Calavas in Paris and illustrated by Mimard . It presents a series of loops and ornaments inspired by the plant world: chestnut leaves, poppies, wisteria, and intertwined scrolls. The compositions are both naturalistic and symbolic, reflecting the pursuit of a total art form where nature and ornamentation merge.
Originally, this lithograph was a study plate for jewellers and decorative artisans , used to disseminate the 1900 style in applied arts schools and design workshops.
